What Video Game Remakes or Reboots do we actually want?

Hollywood and the game industry seem to love reboots, but rarely do they seem to reboot the things we actually want.  Here is a list of games that I feel could actually do with a reboot or a remake due to improved technology, storytelling, and modern gameplay features that would work well.

Note that I'm not just talking about a video game franchise that's currently dead that I'd like to see return.  There are plenty of those - what we mean here, specifically, is great games from yesteryear that could be recreated from scratch (no "HD Remasters" please!) as premium games for a modern audience.  I'm also not counting anything where a reboot or remake is actually in the works, like that System Shock remake that was started, stalled, and apparently has started again.

Deus Ex - Eidos Montreal and publisher Square Enix may not have gotten the retail success they probably needed of out of the flawed-but-functional Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and the ending of that game makes me think that Adam Jensen is probably due for a trilogy conclusion, but assuming that day does come, returning to the farther-future, bleak world of nanoaugmentations in the original Deus Ex, this time as another sequel to the Jensen trilogy, could be pretty great.  It's obvious that Eidos Montreal has a great eye for at least the gameplay that made Deus Ex so exciting and original to begin with, and a return of Paul and JC Denton could be pretty fantastic.

Star Wars: X-Wing / TIE Fighter - These space flight sims from the early 1990s challenged players to show a solid mix of strategy, tactics, and dogfighting skill, and the graphics and sound combined with the lofty Star Wars history made this games surefire hits.  The franchise fizzled out in later years with multiplayer-oriented entries X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance, but a return to roots with original trilogy space battles as the focus would probably serve best.  Sure, we did see a VR-themed X-Wing "experience" on PlayStation VR and Star Wars: Battlefront II's space combat looked amazing, but these didn't quite have the mix of strategy gamers expected.  Disney seems uninterested in making their own games under any banner right now, so if this ever gets made, it will have to be in the hands of a publisher like EA with a Star Wars license.

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall - The most unique thing about Daggerfall, the second major game in the excellent Elder Scrolls series, is that it was the biggest game in it.  Using procedural techniques to improve the size of the land, you could find hundreds of villages, dungeons, and more in this early-90s predecessor to the legendary Morrowind.  And while a remake of Morrowind itself may commercially be a solid idea as well, it seems that Bethesda Game Studios' publisher Zenimax is mostly interested in playing on our nostalgia by redesigning these areas and worlds in their Elder Scrolls Online game.  It just ain't the same.

Ultima - Don't worry, D&D fans, I'll get to you later.  First, let's talk about one of computer gaming's most beloved franchises from yesteryear: Ultima.  These RPGs combined simple top-down graphics with large worlds and interesting systems to wow audiences not with visual splendor, but with meaty depth.  While some may prefer other franchises like the aforementioned D&D games (Pool of Radiance comes to mind), Might & Magic, or Wizardry, the trials and tribulations of The Avatar may work best with today's audiences.  My personal favorite game in the series was the first-person adventure Ultima Underworld, one of the very first games with a bunch of unique features that wouldn't come to the First Person Shooter genre until some time afterward.

Road Rash - This violent racing/action series was a huge hit on the Sega Genesis and got even better in the 32-bit era, and I'd love to see it return with a unique visual style, multiplayer, and some of the RPG elements we now see in action games today.  Luckily for you guys, a spiritual successor called Road Redemption has been released on PC and it's only improved over the years, and we hear console versions are coming.  Still, I'd also love to see the return of the real king.

No One Lives Forever - Parodying spy movies has been a long-honored tradition.  It was most popular with Mike Myers' Austin Powers movies, but it goes back further than that.  No One Lives Forever consisted of two games released back in the early 2000s and had biting wit, great spy-mocking gameplay, interesting stealth, smooth action, and great graphics.  It  also starred Cate Archer, the female protagonist that is the missing link between the Lara Croft of yesteryear and the one of today in that she had a voice, style, attitude, and independence that some game studios still struggle with even today.  Unfortunately, a return of this franchise of nearly any kind is unlikely to happen soon, as no one seems to know who owns the rights to the name anymore.

Baldur's Gate I and II - D&D as a franchise really isn't being represented well in video games at all right now, and that's unfortunate. The Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games take place in the Forgotten Realms D&D world, and included wonderful characters, a great mix of classes, and solid stories backed by many books and campaigns over the years.  You can get enhanced editions of the originals made for modern PCs, but that plays like more of a remaster than a whole new remake.  While Obsidian Entertainment certainly made a great spiritual successor to Icewind Dale in the Pillars of Eternity games, having them or another studio with an RPG pedigree bring back D&D with a remake of these classics would be especially sweet.  Even a reboot of the action-RPG spinoff Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance could be really fun.

Silent Hill - There's something about the first couple of Silent Hill games that I always found really unnerving and upsetting.  Horror games certainly are twisted and terrifying, and the 2014 demo called PT, which was meant to be a teaser for a new game in the franchise called Silent Hills, showed us what a modern-day game in this franchise would look like.  As we now know, Konami fired the creator of the game, Hideo Kojima - who once said he'd love to remake Silent Hill - and cancelled the Silent Hills project entirely.  His new game, Death Stranding, certainly looks unique, but what has been seen so far seems vastly different than what he was going for in PT.  Konami holds the rights to Silent Hill, and while it seems unlikely that Kojima and Konami will ever work together again, it's still a possibility - after all, Steve Jobs came back to Apple and look what he did with that.

Actually like perusing is in all things, you must have persistence for everything. In games you generally need to sit tight for something. You need to have tolerance for discovering something, something to get done with cooking, something to wrap up biting the dust, your companions to return from going afk (Away From Keyboard), CPS Test

You might have noticed that there are many more video games store today compared to twenty years ago. The main reason for this is that the industry of video games and video game accessories has boomed all over the world in the past two decades. Many of these video games store don't just sell newly released games but they also sell old and used video games making it affordable to all video game players including those who are on a tight budget. https://www.buyyoutubeviewsindia.in/youtube-marketing/
